I wonder, how will the iPhone ringtones work? Will they work like most conventional mobile phones? Will there be a huge surge in ringtone providers offering tones for iPhones?
I hope so - I bought a domain that would cater to iPhone ringtones. I won't mention what the domain is here but I think it's a damn good one. There are better ones, but I think I scored a decent domain.
Anyway, did anyone catch Steve Jobs keynote speach unvieling the iPhone? Did you hear the default ringtone?
iPhone Ringtone
Someone ripped the tone off Jobs speech, cleaned it up and there you have it!

Awesome...was looking for this, thanks!
Some actually feel that the ringtone biz is doomed now that the iPhone, with seamless iTunes integration can use any song, podcast phrase, or whatever, as a ringtone.
Wow. that sounds really ghey.
Does anybody have a MIDI of this (probably a marimba)? My phone sucks.

cheers!
I've just registered an "album" of Soundslikeaphone ringtones (that's ringtones that actually sound like a phone) on iTunes. They'll be live on iTunes available for download to the iPhone on the first day that the iPhone's released: 29th June 2007. They tones will be available as MP3s on general release in the USA a month later, but for the first month, iTunes USA will have them as an exclusive.
Apple would be foolish not to allow third party ringtones, like at iphone ringtones.
Its interesting to read older posts on the iPhone. We are now 200 days post sales on iPhone, and Apple has sold 4M units. >20% market share in smart phones.
